Formal education at the university. WES accreditation.
· Knowledge of historical methods/types/techniques of printing, book structure, sewing styles, binding, handwriting, techniques of miniatures, etc.
· Knowledge of conservation ethics, methods and practices.
· Extensive experience in using diverse bound materials, particularly leather, fabrics and papers.
· Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to produce fine reliefs for bindings.
· Frequent work experience since 2004 in Italy and in Canada:
- developed different projects for private book collections,
- conserved works on paper and book bindings,
- preserved as much as possible from the originals and made books usable
- rebuilt missing parts, such as reliefs, spines and metals in an appropriate style and method
- kept detailed documentation, descriptions and made photos of before-during-after restoration.
