Video Editor (2 positions) and Digital Outreach & Promotion Assistant (2 positions)
These positions are part of a small, coordinated digital production team. Responsibilities are clearly divided between content production and outreach functions to ensure efficient workflow and avoid duplication of tasks.
The Video Editor is responsible for the production of video content and learning materials based on pre-developed scripts and structured educational outlines.
The Digital Outreach and Promotion Assistant is responsible for the visibility, communication strategy, and audience engagement related to these materials.
Both roles collaborate through weekly coordination meetings to ensure alignment, but each position operates within its defined scope of responsibilities.

Duration: 8 weeks (until 17th July, 2026)
Seasonal employment full time
17.60 hourly / 35 hours per week

Position description:
The Video Editor will support the creation of digital educational materials for a public-facing rare-books and cultural-heritage initiative related to the Rare Collections educational platform. Working with pre-selected source materials (images, video clips, voice recordings, documents, and rough lecture outlines), the participant will assemble high-quality educational videos and presentations under the guidance of the project supervisor.
Primary responsibilities include:
Experience in CapCut is required. Equivalent tools (Adobe Premiere, etc.) to create clear and coherent educational videos can also be used.
Organizing media assets according to project outlines provided by the supervisor (without determining content structure or narrative design) - photos, archival images, video clips, audio files, and written content.
Editing and assembling video sequences based on pre-defined scripts, storyboards, and learning modules provided by the supervisor
Creating motion graphics strictly to support existing educational explanations (not designing instructional content independently)
Synchronizing voice-over recordings with the pace and structure of video segments and presentations.
Creating basic motion-graphics elements such as animated text, transitions, arrows, overlays, and simple line-drawing animations that visually explain the content described in the narration.
Designing PowerPoint slides based on pre-organized material; integrating these slides into video presentations; and ensuring consistency of layout, timing, structure, and visual identity.
Adding music, sound effects, and ambient audio where appropriate.
Conducting basic colour correction, cropping, and image adjustments to ensure visual clarity and consistency.
Maintaining organized file structures, naming conventions, and version control for all project materials.
Preparing multiple output formats (horizontal, vertical, and square video ratios) as required for educational use on different platforms.
Communicating regularly with the supervisor to refine drafts, incorporate feedback, and adjust materials to meet project needs.
Performing quality-control checks to ensure that edited videos are clear, accurate, and aligned with the learning objectives of each module.
Secondary tasks (as needed):
Assisting with simple digital tasks such as exporting presentation slides, adding captions, or formatting short clips for web or accessibility purposes.
Contributing ideas on visual clarity or engagement without altering educational structure or learning objectives
Administration and Coordination
Participate in weekly check-ins with the coordinator to review progress and provide updates on work activities.
Document work progress and completed tasks in shared project sheets.
All tasks will be completed remotely, using the participant’s own computer and editing tools, with regular check-ins and shared online workspace access provided by the organization. The participant will receive ongoing mentorship and training in digital content production, visual communication, and workflow organization.

Position description:
The Digital Outreach and Promotion Assistant will support the visibility, engagement, and public reach of the Rare Collections educational platform and its community programming. Working under the supervision of the Director, the participant will contribute to both strategic outreach planning and the creation of digital communication materials.
The role combines content production with early-stage marketing exploration, helping identify effective and cost-efficient ways to reach audiences without relying on paid advertising.
The participant will not be responsible for editing core educational videos or defining instructional content structure, which is handled by the Video Editor role.
Support the development of a basic outreach and promotion strategy for online courses, workshops, and educational content.
Research and identify relevant audiences, communities, and platforms for organic (non-paid) outreach.
Assist in developing messaging approaches tailored to different audiences (students, educators, cultural audiences, general public).
Contribute ideas for increasing visibility through partnerships, community networks, and cross-platform promotion.
Create, edit, and schedule digital content across selected platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other relevant channels).
Produce short-form videos, captions, graphics, and visual materials using provided templates and brand guidelines.
Edit and prepare digital media assets (clips, reels, educational snippets).
Ensure all content aligns with accessibility standards (captions, alt text, readability).
Assist in identifying and engaging with relevant online and local communities, cultural groups, and educational networks.
Support the dissemination of announcements, workshops, and educational materials through organic outreach channels.
Respond to online inquiries and comments in a professional and community-oriented manner.
Track engagement patterns and identify what types of content generate meaningful interaction.
Assist in adapting educational content (workshops, course materials) into accessible promotional formats.
Support the development of visual and written materials that introduce the project to new audiences.
Help ensure that communications are inclusive, accessible, and suitable for multilingual or diverse audiences.
Participate in weekly check-ins with the coordinator to review outreach progress and priorities.
Maintain records of outreach activity, engagement metrics, and content performance.
Contribute to the development of a simple content calendar and outreach workflow.
Attend online meetings and provide updates on communication activities.
Follow organizational guidelines regarding digital ethics, copyright, and respectful communication.
Develop foundational skills in digital marketing, audience engagement, content strategy, and communication planning.
Gain hands-on experience in building organic outreach systems for a cultural and educational project.
All tasks will be completed remotely, using the participant’s own computer and editing tools, with structured guidance, templates, and regular supervision provided by the organization. The participant will receive mentorship in digital communication strategy, content production, and audience engagement methods.
